The Customer needs to provide firefighter students with the most efficient training in order to ensure their readiness to deal with various emergency cases.

However, the Customer’s conventional training facilities do not allow reproducing all the diversity of emergency cases and in many cases cannot physically affect students.

Product Development

The discovery process identified that the best VR training experience would need to be based on a combination of specific hardware and a custom-made software:

  • Haptic VR-suit Teslasuit. Imitates controlled physical sensations to various body areas using electric stimulation
  • Vive Pro VR-headset
  • VR software simulator creating various emergency scenarios and integrated with the hardware elements of the training set

As Teslasuit integrator TravoLab has gained expertise in creating VR-experiences using cutting edge hardware (Teslasuit, VR-helmets, etc). Haptic suit allows to imitate various physical sensations applied to various parts of trainee’s body (hits, wind blows, electric and heat impact, weight feeling, touches, etc.).

  • The solution is a simulator integrated with a haptic suit, VR helmet and a back-pack PC reproducing emergency cases of high complexity in a VR-environment where a trainee has to take correct steps in order to put out the fire and prevent casualties
